We are always so delighted to welcome a new teacher into our Where Inspiration Blooms community and we know you will be super excited when you see the work of wonderfully talented Kate Rebecca Leach.
Kate is an artist and illustrator based just down the road in Hertfordshire and we are so thrilled that she is coming to run one of her unique watercolour classes with us.
In 'Underwater Worlds' we invite you to delve into cool summer seas and learn to create dynamic watercolour artwork inspired by your own travels... from sea glass and shells, to underwater scenes packed with seaweed, coral, and fish!
In this workshop you'll learn how to use organic watercolour shapes to form decorative sea themed and underwater designs in a colour palette of your choice. You'll learn various watercolour techniques and decorative ideas to help you create your very own, unique piece that combines watercolour, inks details, and accents of metallics. You can use inspiration from your own imagination as well Kate’s own portfolio of designs and patterns.
This is a new and unique class for us. We haven't run an abstract, mindful style of watercolour class before. Kate has a wealth of experience in teaching her beautiful watercolour classes and you can expect 4 hours of really delicate techniques, materials and immersive painting.
We will be taking a break around 12.30pm for lunch so please don't forget to bring a packed lunch with you! We will have our usual supply of unlimited hot drinks and some delicious home made cakes (plus vegan, gluten free and dairy-free options) but no amount of cakes will be a substitute for a real lunch so do bring one if you think you may get peckish!
All materials will be provided but please feel free to bring your own favourite materials or brushes if you wish. This class is suitable for total beginners through to experienced artists.
Kate's original artwork and high quality Giclée prints feature creative watercolour techniques and embellished metallic details. Kate founded her business, Essoldo Design, in August 2020 and has sold pieces to over 30 countries across the globe and has successfully licensed her work in the UK, Europe and the USA. Her First book Creative Abstract Watercolor was published in Spring 2024 and you will have the opportunity to purchase it at your class if you wish.

This class will only be able to go ahead if we have a minimum number of 5 guests. All of our teachers are highly skilled in their fields, but being an artist isn't always a well paid profession so we hope you understand why it's important that we ensure that our teachers can afford to run each of their classes. Should the class not be able to go ahead, we will contact you no less than a week before the class is due to take place, and full refunds will be issued.
