The Chilterns are a hot bed of amazing artists and crafters so we are really excited to welcome back Annie - more well known as 'From The Garden Room'. Annie ran a handful of macrame classes for us last year and we are really excited to welcome her to The Pavilion for this class.
Annie is well known locally for her hand made macrame plant hangers which can be found in the very best garden centres nationwide including Petersham Nurseries in Richmond and Burford Garden Centre in the Cotswolds.
We are really excited that Annie is going to be running one of her plant hanger workshops with us and what makes it extra special is that she has designed a brand new hanger style for the class.
In this 2-hour super-fun class you will learn a selection of different macrame knots which will be used to create your very own plant hanger. Macrame is a really mindful activity but also great fun, there's nothing quite like the sense of accomplishment you'll get when you finish your hanger and see your plant hanging in it! This is also a really great class to start your journey with macrame. Once you've mastered the basics you can go on to create wall hangings, yoga mat straps, dog leads and all manner of other useful and decorative pieces. It's a really versatile craft and this is a great place to start.
Please do feel free to bring a plant with you so you can make sure that your hanger fits! or if you prefer there will be a selection to purchase on the day, with a special discount.
Annie will have a selection of different colours of recycled cotton cord for you to choose from. We will email you once you have booked for you to choose your colour.
Because it's almost the weekend we will have some delicious home-made rhubarb/sloe or redcurrant gin to get the evening started (as well as soft and hot drinks) plus you're very welcome to bring a bottle and nibbles if you fancy making an evening of it. Our Friday night classes are a really brilliant way to kick start the weekend so feel free to come with friends and relax with some crafty capers.
No experience necessary and all materials will be provided.
This class will be held at our Pavilion in Penn Street, Amersham. Opposite The Pavilion you will find our gorgeous local country pub The Hit or Miss so you may want to grab a few friends and make a lovely summer evening of it!
